How might we communicate that functional products can be treasures on their own?

The process —

Understanding the brand’s products was key to our concept. We sat down with the owners to talk more about their selection. Pencils, tape dispensers, and trash bins, by themselves, aren’t glamorous objects. But Xception takes exception to this rule. A pen made misshapen or a vase turned flat are objects seen in a new light in ways you wouldn’t expect.

“Shedding light on form and function” became a literal and visual spotlight. It frames products and images through light and dark. Xception is like a museum where the products are displayed as works of art.

The interplay between light and dark reveals the depth behind the functionality of an object, transforming it from utility to fine art.
